Sr Systems Development Engineer, AWS AI/ML Servers
About the role
AWS is building automation, diagnostics, and predictive intelligence for the world’s largest fleet of AI/ML accelerator servers. The Systems Development Engineer will create automation software, diagnostic tooling, and fleet‑health infrastructure for accelerated compute platforms, working across hardware, firmware, kernel, and software to prevent customer‑impacting failures.
Key responsibilities
- Fleet health & predictive infrastructure: Build and own automation for large‑scale accelerator fleet health, design test frameworks and diagnostic tooling, develop predictive failure detection using telemetry and logs, and create monitoring dashboards and health metrics.
- Debugging & troubleshooting: Diagnose complex system‑level issues across compute, GPU, and networking in production, perform root‑cause analysis across firmware, kernel, driver, and physical layers, and feed findings back to manufacturing and design.
- Systems development & automation: Design scalable test automation for hardware bring‑up and regression, build data pipelines correlating test results and sensor telemetry, develop and maintain Linux device drivers on ARM and x86, and manage CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployment.
- Cross‑team collaboration: Work with engineering teams, internal customers, ODMs, and design partners to ensure testability and diagnostic coverage, and partner with datacenter operations to close the loop between field failures and design improvements.
- Operational excellence: Participate in post‑incident reviews, produce documentation and runbooks, and drive process improvements that increase team agility and delivery velocity.
- Travel: May require occasional (
