About the role

Senior System Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support classified information systems. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments supporting the warfighters. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and develop solutions to solve infrastructure problems.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and maintain systems support for software, hardware, and servers: test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to Classified Systems/Networks
  • Perform application updates and installs, operating system upgrades and patching, RAID configuration & monitoring, system backups & restoration, system image creation and disk cloning
  • Provide timely technical support for users and work with them to solve existing problems to include software issues, account management and miscellaneous computing requirements
  • Troubleshooting to resolve technical problems on hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Support Anti-virus Installation and Maintenance
  • Aid with incident response and backup processes and documentation

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Due to the nature of the work, an Active Secret Clearance is required to start work. Further into the work, person onboarded will be upgraded to a Top Secret Clearance.
  • A minimum of 4-6+ years’ experience as a Network / System Administrator / IT
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux desktop and server operating systems is required.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, security, and troubleshooting
  • Have and be able to retain relevant certification (e.g., Security+, Network+, CCNA, MCSE, RHCE, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds.
  • Microsoft Group Policy fundamentals
  • Experience and familiarity with the following operating systems – Windows Server (2022/2025), Windows 11 Enterprise/SHB Images, Windows 11
  • Experience with Linux operating system is a plus (RedHat 8, 9)
  • Knowledge of encryption devices, servers, switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to handle new tasks without supervision
  • Strong technical, organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work in a team environment or independently
  • Strong interpersonal, reporting, and documentation skills are essential
  • Must hold or be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140/8570 Certification requirement (CompTIA Security+ CE, Network+, CCNA or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
  • Security Clearance: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. SECRET (Minimum) Clearance Have a background investigation closure date within the last 5 years Be able to obtain Top Secret (If required) and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access (if required)
