SAIC is seeking an experienced server System Administrator in support of a managed services engagement for a major Public Sector account. This is a fully remote position.

About the role

The successful candidate will join a team of server Administrators responsible for managing our client’s Windows Servers, Linux Servers, Azure, and M365 services and systems. You will be required to install and manage IaaS services, PaaS services, M365 services, Active Directory, Exchange, VMWare including and not limited to performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, security, and operational and application support. Along with the rest of the team, this position will be on rotation for 7x24 on-call support duties.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and maintain Azure solutions related to IaaS, PaaS services (compute, storage, network, and security).
  • Work with container-based infrastructure on Azure (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
  • Manage backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions for Azure environments.
  • Develop using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, JSON, Bicep).
  • Administer Windows Server: installation, configuration, upgrades, migration, and patching.
  • Administer Linux Server: configuration, upgrades, migration, and patching.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application infrastructure, connectivity, and security issues in Azure and on-prem environments.
  • Troubleshoot server-related performance issues (CPU, memory, disk, and other resources).
  • Administer VMWare: build, configure, and maintain a VMWare environment (ESXi, vCenter).
  • Administer on-premises Exchange: build and configure new mailbox servers and Edge SMTP servers; perform day-to-day maintenance.
  • Design and administer Active Directory and Entra (Azure AD) environments, including managing Group Policy and Azure Policies.
  • Manage DNS Server, DHCP Server, Kerberos, and Windows Auth.
  • Troubleshoot VPN connectivity and client issues.
  • Administer Exchange Online, MS Teams, and Office 365.
  • Perform incident, change, problem, and configuration management using ServiceNow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years or more experience; four additional years' experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certifications in one or more of the following areas are highly recommended: Azure Solution Architect Expert, DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, or equivalent.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to pass the California Department of Justice and FBI background check process.
  • USPV+ requirement: must be completed during onboarding before starting or receiving equipment.

Pay

$80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
