About the role
The Amazon LEO for Government (ALG) Engineering organization is a multi-disciplinary technology team established to rapidly address the needs of targeted government and international customers with specific solutions that have the potential to scale. ALG Engineering leads the development and delivery of targeted and scalable solutions for custom space and terrestrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide System Integration and Test leadership for complete hardware and software feature testing.
- Provide technical integration expertise across full SW and HW stack, including custom ASIC, FPGA, and SW deployed across multiple processors.
- Work with various functional engineering disciplines (SW, FW, SE, and HW) to derive test inputs and outputs to create functional and performance test plans and procedures.
- Execute test and document test results.
- Leverage system expertise to lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Specify and develop end-to-end system or sub-system integration and test plans and procedures to validate performance against customer and/or partner requirements.
- Analyze test data and engage with the engineering team to evaluate product performance and suggest improvements to Units Under Test and test support equipment.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts to lead the architecture, design, and validation of test equipment software and hardware necessary to execute test plans and procedures.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working on large-scale programs with a diverse set of talented individuals, as well as with partner organizations (including government agencies).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities and experience in software development.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience using electrical test and measurement equipment including digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, and signal generators for hardware validation, RF characterization, debugging, and system integration.
- 5+ years of software and firmware integration and test, or related industry experience to integrate complex systems such as communication and radar systems.
- 4+ years of experience testing embedded complex systems developed in C, C++, Python, Docker, or Rust for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products.
- 5+ years working with test infrastructure or other systems running on Linux platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround.
- Experience in verbal and written communication for executive level leaders.
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality.
- Experience in coordinating between engineering, test lab, and technicians (if applicable) and scheduling testing resources.
- Experience as the technical lead, leading small groups of other test engineers across multiple test efforts.
- Experience in test plan development related to established space hardware test standards (GEVS/SMC-S-016) or military and common standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160).
- Experience in automating tests and processing data using one or more of the following: Python, Matlab, LabVIEW, C/C++, Docker, and Rust. This includes the ability to create test algorithms, test scripts, automation, and calibration routines for test systems.
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting TCP/IP networks.

Pay
Base salary range: $151,200.00 - $204,600.00 USD annually.
