Sr SW Test Development Engineer

About the Team

The Firmware Tools team develops tools that connect users with Transmitter and Receiver devices, enabling health monitoring and data extraction. This data supports internal teams in improving next-generation sensors and wearables. As a Senior Software Test Development Engineer, you will validate firmware feature interfaces, assess CGM Transmitter performance, and collaborate cross-functionally to create test scripts and validations.

Responsibilities

• Validate BLE interface of Nordic/Silicon Labs-based CGM transmitters and the Dexcom G7 Application.
• Execute BLE interoperability tests to evaluate system performance and compatibility across BLE vendors/versions.
• Perform system-level use case testing, including Intended Use, Cross-Body, Direct-To-Watch, Range, and Interoperability.
• Analyze results and provide feedback for next-generation CGM transmitters.
• Debug customer-reported issues and collaborate with development teams/vendors to resolve them.
• Develop functional and stability tests using Python, Android Debug Bridge (ADB), Ellisys, Selenium, and Appium frameworks.
• Work in a fast-paced Agile environment using GitHub, Jira, and Confluence to document code, create user stories, and track defects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field (highly preferred).
• 7–12 years of industry experience, with 2–4 years in firmware/embedded testing.
• 2+ years of Python script development experience (required).
• 2+ years of Embedded C experience (a plus).
• Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Languages: C, C++, Embedded C, Python.
• Tools: SSH Client, Arduino, JIRA, JTAG, PyCharm, Ellisys Sniffer, Wireshark, MATLAB.
• Peripherals/Protocols: GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN Protocol, TCP/IP, UDP.

Pay

$105,800.00 – $176,300.00 per year.

Schedule

• Travel: 0–5%.
• Workplace: Primarily remote (home office). No assigned workstation; office visits determined with manager. Must live within commuting distance of an assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
