About the Role
Join our team and work remotely from home as a Sr Claims Recovery & Analysis Specialist. You will ensure prepared FHA supplemental claims are completed accurately and according to insurer/investor guidelines, validate supporting documentation, and evaluate the merits of included advances for management approval or denial.
Responsibilities
- Review prepared supplemental claims for FHA loans prior to filing, ensuring compliance with insurer guidelines and requirements.
- Confirm accuracy of analysis for initial claim, initial claim payment, and new advances included in supplemental claim filing.
- Verify all applicable and required documentation is included in the claim file and uploaded to the agency system.
- Maintain updates in LoanServ, updating CITs upon the date the action occurs.
- Provide corrections to claim filers identified during the Quality Review Process and follow up within 24 hours of issuance.
- Learn new skills and expand job knowledge to better perform assigned duties.
- Maintain monthly performance in alignment with quality expectations.
- Complete ad hoc projects related to FHA loans, primarily FHA Supplemental claims, as necessary.
- Stay abreast of relevant changes to GSE guidelines, industry standards, and client expectations.
- Ensure timely completion of projects and tasks; renegotiate deadlines if unable to meet them.
- Identify opportunities to improve department processes, reduce costs, and eliminate non-essential manual activities.
- Keep Team Lead and Supervisor informed of trends, problems, claim denials/curtailments, and claim payment offsets.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of previous FHA claims experience.
- Two or more years of quality assurance experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Default Servicing processes, including Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Conveyance, and Claims.
- Strong knowledge of FHA default claim processes and agency guidelines.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong writing skills, including proper punctuation, grammar, organization, and formatting.
- Ability to work under general direction to accomplish department goals and reduce financial loss.
- Ability to substantiate facts, document them properly, and work effectively with all levels of staff, management, investors, insurers, and third parties.
- Ability to make decisions with moderate impact, identify urgent matters, and escalate them appropriately.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Pay
The target pay range for this position is $24.50/hr - $29.50/hr.
