Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, or Austin, TX (Relocation Required)
Role Type: Full-Time, On-site

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established commercial electrical construction firm with a strong presence across Texas, operating out of Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and Austin. Specializing in large-scale commercial and mission-critical electrical construction, they have built a reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects with exceptional field leadership and operational discipline. Their clients span a broad range of industries, including data centers, healthcare, education, and government. The company's culture is rooted in safety, accountability, and a commitment to quality — making them a preferred partner for major general contractors on some of the most demanding builds in the region.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Superintendent with a proven track record leading large-scale commercial electrical construction projects valued at $20M or more. In this role, you will own all field operations — directing superintendents, foremen, and field crews across complex, multi-phase project sites while ensuring every project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader who thrives in high-stakes construction environments, has deep experience in data center or mission-critical builds, and brings the discipline and communication skills to manage large crews and deliver results. This is a relocation opportunity — candidates must be willing to relocate to one of the client's Texas markets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all field operations on large-scale commercial electrical construction projects.
  • Manage superintendents, foremen, and field crews across multiple job sites.
  • Drive execution to meet schedule, budget, and quality standards on all assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee manpower planning, productivity tracking, and workforce allocation.
  • Enforce safety compliance and maintain high-quality installation standards at all times.
  • Conduct progress meetings, site walks, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, delays, and potential cost overruns proactively.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial electrical construction experience (commercial only — no residential, industrial-only, or solar-only backgrounds).
  • Must have led a minimum of 3 individual projects each valued at $20M+ (cumulative project experience will not be considered).
  • Proven ability to manage large field teams, including 50+ personnel on-site.
  • Strong background in complex, multi-phase large-scale commercial electrical builds.
  • Data center or mission-critical construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of NEC codes, electrical systems, and field scheduling.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be willing and able to relocate to Texas (candidates currently located in Texas will not be considered).
  • Must not be currently employed by Hays Electrical, Humphreys & Associates, or MMR.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data center or hyperscale construction experience.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction management platforms.
  • Experience working alongside major national general contractors.
  • Familiarity with mission-critical facility standards and owner-driven quality requirements.
  • IEC, NJATC, or equivalent electrical trade education or apprenticeship.
  • Formal education in Construction Management or a related field is a plus but not required given equivalent field experience.
  • Texas Electrical License preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • IEC or equivalent trade certification preferred.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent delivery of $20M+ projects on time and on budget.
  • Strong field leadership resulting in high-performing, well-organized crews.
  • Minimal rework and strong ongoing relationships with clients and general contractors.

Benefits

  • Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.
  • Vehicle allowance or company truck program (confirm with client).
  • Performance-based bonus structure (confirm with client).
  • Comprehensive health benefits package (confirm with client).
  • 401(k) and retirement benefits (confirm with client).
