About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated mid-level engineer with either a Bachelors or Master's degree in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering and 3+ years of experience among the fields of structural mechanics, stress analysis, structural design, material modeling, or shock analysis and testing.
Responsibilities
- Supporting research, development, engineering and design efforts, focused on DoD and DoE systems
- Experience in multiple of the following areas:
- Finite element analysis codes (ABAQUS, NASTRAN, ANSYS, LS-DYNA)
- Explicit and implicit solution methods
- Linear and nonlinear techniques
- A background in material constitutive, equations of state and failure models is beneficial
- Metallic, composite and polymer structures design and analysis
Requirements
- Self-motivated with a strong background in analytical and numerical modeling
- Expertise in dynamic events with a focus on material responses under these dynamic conditions
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelors or Master's degree in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience supporting research, development, engineering and design efforts, focused on DoD and DoE systems
- Must be able to acquire a Secret clearance or higher
Skills
- Knowledge of finite element analysis codes (ABAQUS, NASTRAN, ANSYS, LS-DYNA)
- Experience with explicit and implicit solution methods
- Understanding of linear and nonlinear techniques
