About the role

This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S.-based office, but we intend to hire the best candidates. As a Senior Structural Engineer within our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll work on a variety of projects related to Data Centers, including new builds, retrofits, and colocations. You will perform various aspects of structural engineering assignments, increasing your familiarity with design methods and tools.

You’ll contribute to a diverse team of engineers and designers on various capital projects, liaise with other internal professionals and design departments for project delivery, and coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices both domestic and international. You’ll have the opportunity to grow technically and professionally while expanding your leadership role within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of structural analyses
  • Create computer models for structures
  • Perform calculations for member designs and foundations, material take-offs for estimating, and preparation of miscellaneous calculations
  • Assist with schedules and other project-related tasks
  • Support and engage with Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams to maximize project outcomes
  • Travel to various client sites (approximately 10% to 20%)

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8 or more years of professional experience in structural engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry-relevant design codes and standards
  • Knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and S3D
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite software, including MS Teams for remote coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Experience with industrial metals projects, including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $182,700.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Jacobs offers a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
