This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S.-based office, but we intend to hire the best candidates.

About the role

As a Senior Structural Engineer professional within our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll work on a variety of projects related to Data Centers, including new builds, retrofits, and colocations. You will perform various aspects of structural engineering assignments, increasing your depth and breadth of familiarity with design methods and tools. You’ll contribute to and collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and designers on various capital projects, liaising with other internal professionals and design departments for project delivery. You’ll also coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices, both domestic and international.

Key contributions include:

  • Performing a variety of structural analyses
  • Creating computer models for structures
  • Performing calculations for member designs and foundations, material take-offs for estimating, preparation of miscellaneous calculations, and assisting with schedules

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8 or more years of professional experience in structural engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
  • Knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCad, Revit, MicroStation, and S3D
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry-relevant design codes and standards
  • Knowledge and application of Building Codes
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite software, including MS Teams for remote coordination
  • Ability for travel to various client sites (approximately 10% to 20% travel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Experience with industrial metals projects, including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $182,700.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
