Sr. Structural Engineer
About the role
We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Sr. Structural Engineer to join our growing Illinois structural team. Whether designing new structures, evaluating existing structures, or collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze steel, concrete, timber, and masonry buildings and bridges
- Prepare structural calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports
- Perform structural inspections and condition assessments
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and public agencies
- Review construction submittals and respond to field questions
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, estimating, and scheduling
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, AASHTO, IDOT, and industry standards
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 15+ years or more experience in the design of bridge and/or buildings
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles
- Ability to communicate with clients utilizing excellent written and verbal skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with bridges, transportation structures, municipal facilities, commercial buildings, or public infrastructure
- Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation policies and procedures
- Illinois SE license or progress toward SE licensure
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley Connect Open Roads Software, and/or AASHTOware bridge rating software, or other bridge design software such as MDX

Pay
The expected salary range for the position is $110,000 - $150,000. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.
