About the role
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Sr. Structural Engineer to join our growing Illinois structural team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex structural projects, including designing new structures, evaluating existing ones, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze steel, concrete, timber, and masonry buildings and bridges
- Prepare structural calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports
- Perform structural inspections and condition assessments
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and public agencies
- Review construction submittals and respond to field questions
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, estimating, and scheduling
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, AASHTO, IDOT, and industry standards
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 15+ years of experience in the design of bridges and/or buildings
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with bridges, transportation structures, municipal facilities, commercial buildings, or public infrastructure
- Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation policies and procedures
- Illinois SE license or progress toward SE licensure
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley Connect Open Roads Software, AASHTOware bridge rating software, or other bridge design software such as MDX

Pay
Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000. Final compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
