Sr. Structural Engineer

About the role

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in one of the following locations: Chicago, Lisle, Normal, Peoria, Springfield, IL or St. Louis, MO. This role offers great growth potential and provides customer-oriented design and construction services to clients nationwide and in the Western Region.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for building structures and related systems.
• Perform structural analysis and design for Energy and Industrial structures and related systems.
• Develop construction documents and provide construction administration services.
• Perform site visits, client meetings, and coordination with the project team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s degree (preferred) in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, with emphasis in structures.
• 8 - 15 years of structural engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) licensure preferred.
• Experience with design and construction administration of building structures, preferably both new construction and renovation of existing structures.
• Experience designing with common construction materials: steel, concrete, masonry or wood.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously.
