Sr. Staff Systems Engineer

We're transforming the future of urban mobility through safe, all-electric, autonomous flight. As a Sr. Staff Aircraft Systems Engineer at Wisk, you will ensure that the aircraft is designed, built, and verified for intended functionality. You will be part of the Aircraft Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test team, driving aircraft integration activities in a hybrid work environment (3 days onsite in Mountain View, with flexibility for remote work the remainder of the week).

Responsibilities

• Support and drive definition and development activities for artifacts required for ARP4754 and ARP4761 compliance.
• Review safety-critical system integration activities based on best system engineering practices, lessons learned, and guidelines.
• Support and drive trade studies to achieve efficient and optimized safety-critical systems architectural solutions that meet performance, size, weight, power, and safety requirements per FAA/EASA regulations.
• Own and drive the schedule and end-to-end integration activities, including mass, power, regulatory compliance, PRAs, and top technical issues.
• Contribute to the development of efficient and optimized execution strategies across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Support system development and validation efforts for integrated aircraft systems in flight test and certification.
• Work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision, prioritizing and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• B.S. in engineering and 12 years of experience, or M.S. in engineering with 8 years of experience in Aircraft Integration, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in development and decomposition of requirements, function allocation, and interfacing with certification and systems safety teams.
• Expertise with ARP4754A, DO-160, ARP4761, Part 23/25 regulations, AC XX.1309, or similar standards.
• Familiarity with DO-178C and DO-254.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as Polarion, DOORS, Teamcenter, or Requiem.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Previous experience in system development, design, manufacturing, or flight test.
• Experience in development of one or more of the following: complex, highly coupled aircraft systems, avionics systems, flight controls, or propulsion systems.

Pay

The expected pay range for this role is $193,000 - $241,000 per year. The starting base salary within this range varies based on factors such as geographical location and relevant job-related experience.
