The Senior Staff Android Engineer (Architect) role at Slack focuses on defining the future of Slack's mobile platform. Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, including extensive experience building and scaling Android applications in production.
  • Deep expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development.
  • Proven track record of leading large, ambiguous, org-spanning technical initiatives with significant measurable business impact.
  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of influencing across Engineering, Product, and Design leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Define the multi-year technical strategy behind experiences used by millions of Slack users every day.
  • Lead the most complex, ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from early technical exploration through production rollout.
  • Partner with Product and Design leadership to shape user experiences that balance needs and technical constraints.
  • Act as a top-level technical authority, influencing engineering decisions through architecture reviews and mentorship.
  • Drive the evolution of Slack's mobile architecture and infrastructure to support future product investments.

Pay

$218,400 - $401,400 per year
