Sr. Staff Software Engineer, AI Platform

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer, AI Platform to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will shape the technical foundation for evaluation capabilities across GenAI and complex ML systems, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and practical adoption. You will help define the roadmap for a critical platform that supports experimentation, monitoring, and decision-making across multiple teams. The position calls for deep cross-functional partnership, strong architectural judgment, and thoughtful balance between metrics, expert review, and business outcomes. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Identify modernization opportunities and scale the evaluation system roadmap
• Define cross-team technical strategy and drive adoption of evaluation capabilities
• Make architectural decisions to enhance user experience and reliability
• Establish evaluation methodologies balancing metrics, expert judgment, and business outcomes
• Lead complex cross-team workstreams and manage technical tradeoffs

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with evaluation systems for GenAI and complex ML systems
• Strong programming skills in Python and knowledge of distributed systems
• Familiarity with GenAI and RecSys evaluation libraries and frameworks
• 5+ years of experience in building scalable platforms for experimentation and monitoring
• Strong judgment regarding GenAI risks like bias and privacy
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

Pay

$208,592 – $429,454 annually
