Sr/Staff PCB Layout Designer

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in San Jose, CA and require in-office collaboration. It’s time to build. We are looking for an experienced PCB Layout Designer to help us design critical hardware for our Humanoid. Responsibilities Responsible for the PCB layout of new and existing designs, from initial placement to productionPreparation and release of fabrication/assembly filesPerform and manage vendor DFx reportsCollaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, and Thermal engineersManage external PCB layout contractors Requirements 5+ years of industry experienceStrong experience with AltiumStrong experience designing for power converters (10W to >1kW)Strong experience with flex, rigid flex, and HDI designsStrong experience with DFx (high yield designs, designing for ICT/FCT, etc)Strong understanding of rule based designs (creepage/clearance, high speed rules, etc)Experience designing for EMI/EMCExperience proposing and selecting material and stackupsA good grasp of EE fundamentals Bonus Qualifications Experience with high speed designs (>8 GHz) and RFExperience with simulation software for power electronics/high speed design (i.e. ANSYS, Hyperlynx, Keysight, etc)Experience with high voltage applications (>60V) and compliance requirementsExperience with exotic PCB technologies (3D mid, IMS, embedded coin/bus-bar, embedded passives, planar transformers, etc)Experience with PLM systems The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $150,000 - $250,000 annually. The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
