Sr. Staff Geophysicist, Exploration

Responsibilities

• Seismic processing QC and project management of multiple concurrent projects
• Communicating with asset teams, vendors and non-operator partners on project status
• Proficient in well-ties and ability to perform AVO analysis for data QC
• Seismic interpretation to support processing projects
• Collaboration, technical discussions, project peer assists/reviews, and mentoring/coaching

Qualifications/Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Geophysics or related field
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in offshore exploration & development seismic processing working deepwater GoA or international projects
• Minimum 10 years’ experience with an offshore E&P operator
• Expert understanding of geophysical processing techniques including 4D and modern FDR methods with streamer & OBN data in complex salt environments
• Proficiency in AVO analysis and seismic acquisition techniques
• Proficiency in AVO platforms such as RokDoc, Hampson-Russell or Insight is beneficial
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

The position is based in Murphy's Houston corporate office and offers a hybrid work schedule, with the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week.
