About the Role

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are looking for a Senior Specialist in Public Relations to drive communications strategies and media relations on behalf of Blue Origin. The ideal candidate will have proven product launch and storytelling experience, preferably within the high-tech and space industries. This is an individual contributor role within the Blue Origin Communications & Marketing team. You are not only a news enthusiast with strong reporter relationships but also a meticulous and world-class writer and copy editor, and team player that is data-driven and passionate about space exploration. We are looking for someone to apply their storytelling and channel expertise and commitment to quality to drive awareness of Blue Origin's mission and impact. This is an on-site and in-office position, with occasional travel. The preferred office location is at Rocket Park in Merritt Island, FL. Alternatively, an exceptional candidate can work from our Blue Origin offices in Kent, WA, or Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and align on communications strategies and integrated campaigns that reach key audiences across channels.
  • Write and edit press materials and internal collateral, ensuring narratives are consistent, compelling, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media and influencers, cultivating relationships. Plan and execute briefings, events, and other activations.
  • Use media monitoring and analytics tools to measure impact and optimize communications strategies based on insights.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activity, emerging technologies, and digital platforms to identify new opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations is preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in communications.
  • Comfortable leveraging data and actionable analytics to develop stories and generate results.
  • Eagerness to learn about cutting-edge industry trends and innovation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Pay

Base pay range for VA applicants is $134,434.00 - $188,207.25. WA applicants is $134,434.00 - $188,207.25. Other site ranges may differ.
