Opportunity

  • Pay Range: $18.65 - $19.90/hr based on experience
  • Shift: Flexible schedule based on department needs
  • Location: Onsite at Ardent - Hillcrest Cushing, Cushing, OK

About the Role

  • Responsible for performing admitting duties for all patients receiving services at Ensemble Health Partners.
  • Additional duties can include training, scheduling, and other senior-level responsibilities.
  • Works within the policies and processes of the entire organization.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assigns accurate MRNs, completes medical necessity or compliance checks, provides patient instructions, collects insurance information, receives, and processes physician orders, and utilizes an overlay tool.
  • Utilizes quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are corrected.
  • Develops training materials and programs for new hires and provides continuing education to associates.
  • Develops staff schedules within the patient access department.
  • Provides on-call support for the department, including working unscheduled times to cover staffing issues.
  • Collects point of service payments, including past due balances and offering payment plan options.
  • Conducts audits of accounts and provides statistical data to Patient Access Leadership.
  • Explains general consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians, obtains necessary signatures, and witnesses’ names.
  • Distributes patient education documents and reviews eligibility responses in insurance verification system.
  • Accurately screens medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software and distributes ABNs as appropriate.
  • Documents and distributes other designated forms and pamphlets.

Job Experience

  • 1 to 3 Years of experience
  • Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI

Education Level

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments, and denials
  • Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification
  • Knowledge of Health Insurance requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes
