About the role

The Schwab Investment Products Solutions and Services (SIPSS) FP&A team supports a business managing over $6 trillion in client assets, generating approximately $3B in revenue, employing around 600 staff, and spending about $300M annually. This role focuses on forecasting, reporting, financial analysis, and decision support for the Strategy & Innovation and Corporate Development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support leaders in understanding business performance through financial insights and decision-making
  • Lead expense management, forecasting, reporting, and ad hoc analysis
  • Partner closely with business leaders, senior stakeholders, and Finance partners across the organization
  • Translate complex data into clear insights using financial models, assessing growth and investment opportunities
  • Build financial models and scenario-based analyses to evaluate business outcomes, growth opportunities, or investment decisions
  • Communicate financial insights effectively to help leaders take action
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen data collection, reporting, and analysis processes
  • Build a deep understanding of the Strategy & Innovation and Corporate Development teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in financial planning, business analysis, financial reporting, or closely related work
  • Experience supporting forecasting, expense management, reporting, and business performance analysis
  • Ability to use data analysis and financial reporting to identify trends, explain business drivers, and support decision-making
  • Experience building financial models or scenario-based analyses to evaluate business outcomes, growth opportunities, or investment decisions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, concise insights for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to partner with senior leaders and influence decisions through thoughtful analysis, sound judgment, and stakeholder management
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure complex questions, analyze options, and recommend practical solutions
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify data anomalies, resolve issues, and deliver work on time
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills to support analysis, reporting, and executive-level communication
  • Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • Experience in financial services or asset management
  • Experience supporting strategy, innovation, corporate development, or investment-related business functions
  • Comfort presenting to senior audiences with clear, concise, and compelling messages
  • Experience improving reporting, data collection, or analysis processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and business impact
