Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to the Companys EH&S programs by providing support that promotes safe work practices and full environmental protection in compliance with Company policies and government regulations.
- Promote and support a culture of teamwork, honesty, integrity, and openness in all environmental, health, and safety matters.
- Partner with Substation Operations managers, planners, supervisors, and field personnel to continuously improve safety performance and maintain compliance with EH&S standards.
- Conduct substation inspections to verify compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Company procedures.
- Perform and participate in routine hazard assessments to identify EH&S risks and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct, document, and provide feedback on Job Site Safety Exchanges, inspections, and assessments involving Company and contractor personnel.
- Manage and support EH&S remediation projects as needed.
- Track, document, report, and drive resolution of all substation spills to minimize environmental impact and reduce open cases.
- Interface with federal, state, and local agencies to enhance environmental performance and ensure the protection of employees.
- Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour, 7-day basis, as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education Required: High School/GED
- Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities Required:
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of work experience in Environmental, Health, & Safety or Substation Operations or Associate's Degree and 4 years of work experience in Environmental, Health, & Safety or Substation Operations or High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of work experience in Environmental, Health, & Safety or Substation Operations
- Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental/Physical Science and/or Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience in the EH&S field and or Electric/Substation Operations Associate's Degree in Environmental/Physical Science and/or Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience in the EH&S field and or Electric/Substation Operations
- Relevant Work Experience: Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and understand the vital importance of personal accountability, required. Ability to develop concepts into successful safety and environmental programs, required. Ability to effectively interact with customers, support staff, regulatory agencies, and various levels of management, required. Strong Interpersonal Skills Working With Diverse Workforce, Required.

Physical Demands
- Ability to respond to system emergencies
- Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
- Perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions
- Ability to carry tools and materials when climbing ladders and scaffolds, and entering confined spaces
- Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
- Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems
- Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Ability to climb in and out of manholes and excavations
- Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Ability to wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use equipment with a maximum weight rating of 375lbs when wearing and/or carrying 25lbs of clothing and equipment

Pay
Minimum Salary: $105,000.00
Maximum Salary: $135,000.00
