Sr Specialist, Data Science
This hybrid role partners with the US Vaccines Marketing Team to deliver data-driven, actionable insights that inform brand strategy and meet commercial objectives across the Adolescent, Adult, and Ecosystem portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver analyses that promote brand growth and commercial objectives.
- Ensure high-quality, timely, and compliant delivery of analytics, keeping stakeholders updated on progress.
- Mine and analyze data from disparate sources (claims, EMR, sales, distribution, and other commercial data) using advanced analytical and statistical techniques to optimize therapy area commercial strategies.
- Connect insights across commercial capabilities (e.g., dashboards, MMx, MarTech) to synthesize cohesive insights and inform platform enhancements aligned with Marketing team needs.
- Identify, pilot, and champion AI-driven automation (Generative AI, agentic workflows, LLMs) to streamline reporting, automate data narratives, and improve efficiency within a regulated environment.
- Convey new analytical trends and methodologies, contributing to innovative experiments and idea generation that enhance organizational analytic capabilities.
- Translate data into actionable commercial stories, co-presenting performance readouts to marketing leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BS (or equivalent) in Marketing, Business Strategy, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Decision Science, Economics, Engineering, Public Health, or a related scientific/commercial discipline.
- MBA, Master’s, or Doctorate in a highly quantitative or commercial discipline is a plus.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience using data science and/or analytical techniques to deliver measurable impact in the commercial pharma landscape.
- Experience mining medical claims, EMR, social media, and other data sources to produce actionable business insights that drive commercial results.
- Proficiency in extracting data from database tables using tools such as SQL, Databricks, or Dataiku.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to craft data-driven stories and present insights to franchise management.
- Ability to guide the implementation of targeting and segmentation schemes using predictive and machine learning models.
- Proven knowledge of pharmaceutical/healthcare business processes, industry trends, and market dynamics.
- Effective organizational and project management skills to navigate a complex matrix environment.
- Openness and motivation to build skills in AI, machine learning, and automation, particularly in agentic AI and automated pipelines.

Location
Upper Gwynedd, PA or Rahway, NJ. Hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence at least 3 days per week (Monday through Thursday).
Pay
The salary range for this role is $129,000 – $203,100. An employee’s position within the range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs. The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
