About the role

Santander is a global leader and innovator in the financial services industry, evolving from a high-impact brand into a technology-driven organization. The Sr. Specialist, Application Development develops and maintains software applications and programs to meet project schedules, maintains and supports existing software applications, identifies and resolves basic application issues and bugs, and escalates complex issues to management. This role assists in the configuration and administration of the Company's systems or applications to ensure changes are methodologically planned, executed and verified.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain applications within the auto lending / consumer finance originations domain
  • Leverage AI-driven development tools and practices to improve code quality, accelerate delivery, and enhance team productivity
  • Navigate a complex enterprise environment with multiple stakeholders, legacy systems, and rigorous change-management processes while maintaining a solution-oriented mindset
  • Assist in the configuration and administration of the Company's systems or applications to ensure changes are methodologically planned, executed and verified
  • Assist in analyzing and deploying hardware or software updates and other patch management directives
  • Respond to inquiries and refer issues to the appropriate department or person, exhibiting necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved
  • Contribute to the implementation of all IT related policies and procedures
  • Recommend enhancements to existing software and applications to improve effectiveness
  • Configure and administer systems or applications to ensure changes are methodologically planned, executed and verified

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education - Required
  • 3+ Years Information Technology, Technical Application Development, or similar experience - Required
  • 3+ Years Experience with C# and .NET (Core and/or Framework) - Required
  • Ability to effectively use AI-assisted coding tools to augment development productivity
  • Openness to adopting emerging AI technologies and integrating them into daily engineering practices
  • Patience and persistence when working within enterprise-scale systems that involve extensive review cycles, regulatory requirements, and cross-functional coordination
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, highly regulated financial services environment where priorities can shift and obstacles require creative problem-solving
  • Comfort operating in environments with complex deployment processes, multiple approval gates, and strict compliance standards
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring employer sponsorship to commence employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ Years Experience providing customer support for IT systems or applications
  • 3+ Years Experience writing technical documentation for both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Experience with Angular or similar front-end frameworks
  • Experience with SQL Server and relational database design
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful Web APIs
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI code generation, AI-powered code review) to accelerate software delivery
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and integrating AI/ML capabilities into development workflows
  • Established work history or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education

Pay

Minimum base pay range: $76,875.00 USD. Maximum: $130,000.00 USD. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
