Sr. Special Events Crew

Part-Time, Non-Exempt position supporting the Special Events team at Petco Park, EVE, Diamond Room, and The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.

About the Role

You will be an essential part of the Special Events team, responsible for the execution of all events at Petco Park, EVE, Diamond Room, and private events at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. Your attention to detail and commitment to creating safe and memorable experiences will make a significant impact on the success of these events.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify the Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED by proactively welcoming all guests and consistently striving to exceed expectations.
• Conduct merchandise operations and sales to meet revenue goals.
• Participate in the set-up, execution, and breakdown of various events, including corporate events, concerts, internal events, and community events at Petco Park, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, and EVE.
• Communicate with contracted vendors during event set-up and breakdown.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment.
• Minimum 1-year previous experience in Events, Business, or Merchandise Operations.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (subject to review).
• Able to lift and transport up to 35 pounds and travel to various areas of event venues for prolonged periods.
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Minimum of 10 shifts per month, with availability for at least 8-hour shifts on “All Hands-on Deck” dates (full-venue events requiring full staffing).
• Must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including a background check.

Qualifications

• Consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance.
• Willingness to learn and embrace a fast-paced event environment.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance as outlined by the San Diego Padres organization.
• Willingness to obtain certification in specialized roles (e.g., Forklift operator).
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

Pay

$22.50 per hour. Part-time non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Hospitality Minimum Wage Ordinance, and rates will increase accordingly.

Schedule
