Sr. Solutions Architect, Financial Services (FSI), Greenfield
New customer acquisition of Financial Services customers (Banking, Insurance, Payments, Capital Markets)
The Solutions Architect will be responsible for acquiring new financial services customers, primarily in the Banking, Insurance, Payments, and Capital Markets sectors.
Communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders as a trusted technical advisor
As a trusted technical advisor, the Solutions Architect will communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, helping to understand and address customer challenges.
Participate in deep architectural and design discussions to create world-class solutions built on AWS while ensuring solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
Collaborate with AWS Sales and other AWS teams to design and implement innovative solutions that accelerate customer success. Ensure that solutions are scalable, flexible, and resilient, and are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
Author and contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and proof of concepts
Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and customer-facing materials, such as whitepapers and proof of concepts, to educate and inspire customers to adopt AWS solutions.
In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute a sales strategy that targets financial services customers and helps them achieve their AWS adoption goals.
Build deep relationships with business and senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and technical leaders within customer organizations to ensure they are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about AWS solutions.
Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
Collect and share insights and best practices gained from working with financial services customers to help improve the overall effectiveness of the Solutions Architect team.
Travel is mostly regional, and is expected to be 15-20%
Travel is expected to be approximately 15-20% of the time, primarily for customer visits and meetings.

Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
