Sr Solutions Architect, Amazon Music BD Growth and Partnerships
About the role
Amazon Music is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join the Amazon Music BD Growth & Partnerships team as the senior technical owner of our partner integrations. This is a technical leadership role, not a support or account management function. You will be the primary technical point of contact for our most strategic external partners, translating Amazon Music's API and platform capabilities into high-quality integration reality, and raising the bar on how we scale partner onboarding across a growing and diverse portfolio. The role sits at the intersection of solutions architecture, technical program management, and developer experience.
You will drive end-to-end delivery of partner integrations by coordinating across external partner engineering teams and internal Amazon Music product and technology stakeholders, including Consumer Platform Technologies, Automotive & Connected Devices, Big Screens, Ticketing, and Customer Experience. You will own the plan, blockers, and outcome, ensuring integrations ship on time and to standard. Additionally, you will define integration design standards, technical review frameworks, partner certification criteria, and self-service onboarding mechanisms central to partnership-led growth.
Responsibilities
- Partner Integration Ownership: Serve as the primary technical owner between Amazon Music and a portfolio of external partners (ticketing, automotive OEMs, big screen platforms, wearables, mobile apps, social platforms, and emerging surfaces). Guide partners through the full integration lifecycle—API design consultation, architecture review, implementation, certification, and production launch. Own integration health: triage issues, diagnose failures, route to owning teams, and drive resolution with clear SLAs and partner-facing communication.
- Technical Program Management & Cross-Functional Delivery: Own end-to-end technical delivery of partner integrations, including the plan, timeline, blockers, and shipped result. Act as the connective tissue between external partner engineering teams and internal Amazon Music organizations (Music Product Technology, Automotive & Connected Devices, Big Screens, CXI, Legal, and BD). Manage milestones, surface risks, escalate blockers, and drive accountability across non-reporting stakeholders.
- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Conduct architecture and design reviews for new and evolving integrations, ensuring solutions are secure, performant, and aligned with Amazon Music platform standards (99.5%+ reliability). Lead technical feasibility assessments for prospective deals. Partner with platform engineering to transition existing partners to the next-generation API platform, providing guidance, debugging support, and proactive communication of breaking changes.
- Developer Platform & Self-Service Onboarding: Define integration design standards, technical review frameworks, and partner certification criteria to scale the solutions architecture practice beyond individual bandwidth.
- Scalable Assets & Knowledge Infrastructure: Build and maintain reusable technical assets (integration guides, reference implementations, onboarding playbooks, API documentation, certification runbooks, and troubleshooting resources) to reduce partner time-to-launch. Translate patterns across the partner portfolio into systemic platform improvements.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
- 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
- Experience building scalable programs and repeatable processes using various tools and methods.
- Knowledge of deliverables and technical specs for streaming assets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to executives and non-technical leaders.
- Experience owning end-to-end technical delivery of partner or customer integrations, including milestone tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communication across non-reporting teams.
- Experience as a primary technical point of contact for external partners or customers, managing integration health, triaging failures, and driving resolution with clear SLAs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
- Experience working with end-user or developer communities.
- Experience with REST API-based services, troubleshooting technical systems, or software development.
- Experience with digital technologies, consumer products, media, or e-commerce.
- Experience supporting partners or customers through platform migrations, including communicating breaking changes and managing transition timelines.
- Hands-on coding ability in any language; able to read partner code, debug integration failures, and write diagnostic or prototype code without engineering support.
- Experience with media streaming protocols and content delivery, including playback session management, audio/video delivery, or streaming client integration.
