About the role

As a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer, you will design and develop major new features within existing systems, playing a key role in driving engineering excellence. You’ll help elevate development practices, operational efficiency, team ownership, and mentoring culture while collaborating with teams across the organization. You will write secure, maintainable, and robust code along with comprehensive tests, lead the design and implementation of features and subsystems, and ensure their operational readiness.

You will actively participate in planning and risk mitigation for systems and services, work independently on most projects, and provide guidance on deep‑industry challenges such as secure, high‑performance, scalable systems and complex cross‑team dependencies. You will frequently identify and resolve issues, lead root‑cause analysis, build metrics and dashboards, and implement improvements that reduce operational overhead, increase availability, improve compliance, and minimize technical debt.

Responsibilities

  • System Scalability: Implement and contribute to distributed system components that support horizontal and vertical scaling, leverage distributed state management tools, optimize code for large‑scale data processing, and perform performance and load testing.
  • System Reliability Design: Build fault‑tolerant components with redundancy, replication, automatic failover, and apply recovery‑oriented computing principles, including retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
  • System Reliability Performance: Implement tests and alarm configurations, draft and execute runbooks, and create dashboards, telemetry, and alerting mechanisms to monitor component health.
  • Correctness & Availability: Design and implement functional requirements and testing for assigned features, create fault‑injection and brown‑out test scenarios, and apply data replication and synchronization techniques.
  • Operational Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues; design automation scripts and tooling for operational troubleshooting; participate in support rotations and root‑cause investigations.
  • Compliance & Security: Apply advanced security measures (encryption, access controls) for multi‑tenant environments, implement remediation plans, and ensure cloud infrastructure complies with industry standards and regulations.
  • Automation & Change Management: Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts and tools, and adhere to change‑management plans for patching, updating, and rolling back applications.
  • Planning & Execution: Track timelines with minimal supervision, prioritize work as resources or timelines change, and ensure timely delivery aligned with project requirements.
  • Collaboration & Partnership: Work across teams to align expectations, understand business and stakeholder needs, and actively listen to diverse perspectives.
  • Problem Solving: Independently identify and address standard and non‑standard issues, analyze data from multiple sources, and contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Continuous Learning: Seek new knowledge, stay current with industry trends, leverage feedback and training, and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement updates to increase efficiency of processes, protocols, and workflows, and solicit input from team members.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior team members, guide technical decisions, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high‑quality product features on time.
  • Cloud Technology Expertise: Understand Oracle cloud technologies, evolve cloud provisioning and enablement processes, and support integration with external teams.
