About the role

The Sr. Software Engineer will lead the design and implementation of the commercial partner mobile apps in React Native (Expo) and web apps. They will also design and build the multi-tenant backend API powering the portal, ensuring data isolation for partners and an "Act As" pattern for Plug ops staff. The role involves taking ownership of features end-to-end, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to team productivity and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Partner Apps Lead the design and implementation of the commercial partner mobile apps in React Native (Expo) and web apps: vehicle pipeline tracking and operations across all stages and partners.
  • Design and build the multi-tenant backend API powering the portal: data isolation for partners, and an "Act As" pattern for Plug ops staff to work in partner context with a full audit trail.
  • Take ownership of features end-to-end, evaluating effort, risk, and priority in an agile environment with Plug ops and partner contacts as key stakeholders.
  • Engineering Collaborate with colleagues and be a strong voice in product and architecture design sessions.
  • Use agentic coding tools to write clear, efficient, and scalable code with an eye toward flexibility and maintainability.
  • Own and contribute to team productivity and process improvements, including bringing mobile and B2B SaaS patterns to the broader team.
  • Actively raise the technical bar through thoughtful code review, pairing, and knowledge sharing - including how you use AI tools.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and delivering production applications; 2+ years React Native experience required with at least one shipped iOS + Android app.
  • Experience building B2B SaaS or partner portal products - understands org-level RBAC and multi-tenant data isolation.
  • Proficiency with Expo: Expo Router, EAS Build, push notifications (APNs + FCM), and cross-platform (iOS, Android) from a single codebase.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in TypeScript across the full stack - backend API development, PostgreSQL schema design, and REST integrations.
  • Experience with B2B auth systems: WorkOS, Clerk Organizations, Auth0 Organizations, or comparable org-level identity and impersonation patterns.
  • Real-time data experience in a mobile context: WebSockets or SSE for live feeds, push notification dispatch from the server side.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating cloud-hosted applications; comfort with AWS/ECS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
  • Operates in agentic development workflows - defining clear acceptance criteria, and reviewing AI-generated output with a high quality bar.
  • Prior startup experience and a track record of owning work end-to-end: scoping, shipping, and measuring impact.

Pay

$175,000 to $190,000 annual salary, depending on relevant experience, specialized skills, training and qualifications, current business needs, and prevailing market conditions.

Schedule

This full-time position is based in Sawtelle (between Santa Monica and West Los Angeles) and is an in-person role. We welcome candidates from all locations to apply, provided they are willing to relocate for the role.
