Sr. Software Engineer III
About the Role

In this role, you’ll lead the engineering of complex systems, contribute to architectural decisions, and play a key role in delivering solutions that power DCI’s financial software platforms. You’ll collaborate across teams, support high-impact initiatives, and help ensure the delivery of reliable and scalable technology. This position may be located in our corporate office in Hutchinson, KS, or performed remotely.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain complex, secure, and efficient software solutions aligned with DCI’s engineering practices
- Develop high-quality code that ensures optimal system performance and scalability
- Lead and participate in code reviews to promote engineering excellence
- Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex system and application issues
- Maintain technical documentation and support system enhancements
- Support implementation efforts, including testing, release, and training
- Collaborate across departments to deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs
- Mentor and guide engineers, supporting technical growth and development
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience working in Windows and Linux environments
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with financial systems or fintech applications
- Familiarity with Agile engineering practices
- Strong understanding of secure coding and system performance optimization
- Experience contributing to system architecture and design decisions
- Proven ability to mentor and lead other engineers
- Hands-on experience applying AI to enhance software engineering, automation, productivity or product capabilities

You might start your day reviewing priorities and aligning with your team on key engineering initiatives. Throughout the day, you’ll design and build complex solutions, troubleshoot challenging issues, and contribute to system improvements. You’ll guide less experienced engineers, participate in code reviews, and collaborate across teams to ensure high-quality delivery—ending your day knowing your impact is shaping critical systems used by banks and communities across the country.
