Sr. Software Engineer
About the role
Build, develop, and maintain the company’s compliance surveillance infrastructure. Collaborate with quantitative engineers, surveillance model developers, and Compliance stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable software designs and processes. Architect and implement large-scale data pipelines and surveillance models that process massive volumes of financial data. Design database schemas and query logic to efficiently handle multi-terabyte surveillance datasets, ensuring data consistency and traceability. Ensure systems are stable and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements. Work with the compliance department to implement necessary system and software changes to ensure effective market surveillance. Develop software to accelerate workflows and system monitoring. Document methodologies to withstand regulatory scrutiny and examination.
Responsibilities
- Develop production-grade Python applications.
- Work in a Linux environment, including command-line automation, package management, and deployment tasks.
- Build and manage large-scale data pipelines and analytical models using Pandas, Polars, NumPy, and Oracle SQL.
- Implement RESTful APIs using Python Flask servers.
- Automate workflows with Jira automation and REST API programming.
- Create and maintain Jenkins pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of Python applications.
- Develop trade and market surveillance models.
- Analyze financial data, including trade and securities data for market surveillance.
- Use Git and Gerrit for version control and peer code reviews.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
- Three years of experience in a software development/engineering position developing with Python (non-scripting).
- Three years of experience with each of the following:
- Developing production-grade Python applications.
- Developing in a Linux environment, including command-line automation, package management, and deployment tasks.
- Using Pandas, Polars, NumPy, and Oracle SQL to build and manage large-scale data pipelines and analytical models.
- Jira automation and REST API programming.
- Python Flask servers using RESTful APIs.
- Developing Jenkins pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of Python applications.
- Trade and market surveillance model development.
- Analyzing financial data, including trade and securities data for market surveillance.
- Git and Gerrit for version control and peer code reviews.
Schedule
Hybrid: Remote work permissible 2 days/week. Must work from NYC office 3 days/week.
Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $185,000 per year, based on skills, experience, and location.
