About the role

The Sr. Software Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and improving software for medical device development. This position requires a strong background in embedded software development within the electromechanical device control industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software for updating existing systems and new product development
  • Suggest improvements for development environments to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Investigate issues to identify root causes and provide solutions
  • Follow established coding styles to maintain a homogeneous codebase
  • Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure quality procedures are followed
  • Support quality, regulatory, and production groups to validate and move software to production
  • Collaborate with quality, regulatory, and production groups to develop releasable software
  • Participate and/or lead software FMEAs
  • Update software engineering work instructions as needed
  • Apply experience and lessons learned to develop reliable quality software
  • Identify and debug software anomalies using standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Provide clear understanding of requirements during product meetings

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in software or computer engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years’ embedded software development experience within the electromechanical device control industry
  • Self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suites)
  • Working knowledge of Synergy SLM software
  • Working knowledge of Agile PLM software
  • Working knowledge of Jama software
  • Computer literate, including proficiency in software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
  • Experience with medical device development lifecycle processes
  • Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
