About the role
The Sr. Software Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and improving software for medical device development. This position requires a strong background in embedded software development within the electromechanical device control industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop software for updating existing systems and new product development
- Suggest improvements for development environments to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Investigate issues to identify root causes and provide solutions
- Follow established coding styles to maintain a homogeneous codebase
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure quality procedures are followed
- Support quality, regulatory, and production groups to validate and move software to production
- Collaborate with quality, regulatory, and production groups to develop releasable software
- Participate and/or lead software FMEAs
- Update software engineering work instructions as needed
- Apply experience and lessons learned to develop reliable quality software
- Identify and debug software anomalies using standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Provide clear understanding of requirements during product meetings
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in software or computer engineering
- Minimum of 4 years’ embedded software development experience within the electromechanical device control industry
- Self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suites)
- Working knowledge of Synergy SLM software
- Working knowledge of Agile PLM software
- Working knowledge of Jama software
- Computer literate, including proficiency in software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Qualifications
- Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
- Experience with medical device development lifecycle processes
- Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
