Sr. Software Engineer

About the role

You will be a technical leader who architects and delivers complex, cloud-native solutions that advance our platform transformation. You will drive the adoption of serverless-first patterns and modern engineering practices while mentoring engineers across the organization. You will tackle our most challenging technical problems and make architectural decisions that impact multiple teams and systems.

In this role, you will be an expert in GoLang and Python, designing high-performance microservices and event-driven architectures on AWS. You will lead technical initiatives, establish patterns for AI/ML integration, and champion practices that improve system reliability, scalability, and security. You will conduct architectural reviews, elevate code quality through mentorship and rigorous code reviews, and serve as a technical resource for your team and adjacent teams.

You will collaborate closely with Distinguished Engineers, architects, and product leadership to align technical decisions with business strategy. You will model a culture that values engineering excellence, scope discipline, and practical problem-solving—where "reliable, accurate, scalable, and trusted" takes precedence over theoretical perfection. You will communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences and build consensus across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Own complex technical domains and influence engineering standards
• Drive the adoption of serverless-first patterns and modern engineering practices
• Design high-performance microservices and event-driven architectures on AWS
• Lead technical initiatives and establish patterns for AI/ML integration
• Conduct architectural reviews and elevate code quality through mentorship and rigorous code reviews
• Drive incident retrospectives and ensure solutions meet reliability and scalability targets
• Serve as a technical resource for your team and adjacent teams
• Champion practices that improve system reliability, scalability, and security
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences and build consensus

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in GoLang, React, and Python
• At least 3 years of experience with AWS cloud services and serverless architectures
• Proven experience leading technical design and architecture decisions
• Experience mentoring and coaching engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years of experience building enterprise-scale cloud-native platforms
• Deep expertise with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, AppSync)
• Experience with MACH architecture principles and composable systems
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models into production workflows
• Strong background in event-driven architectures and distributed systems
• Experience with observability platforms, distributed tracing, and SRE practices
• Track record of leading platform migrations or modernization initiatives
• Expertise in infrastructure as code and GitOps practices
• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect Professional or Developer Professional)
• Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain technology domains

Work Environment

This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
