Sr Software Engineer, AI Agent Platform

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr Software Engineer, AI Agent Platform to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will focus on designing, building, and operating real-time voice AI capabilities that support mission-critical public safety communications. You will work across the stack to improve system reliability, performance, and security while advancing production-ready LLM and agentic solutions. This position partners closely with product and operations teams to refine technical strategy and help strengthen the engineering organization through mentorship and technical leadership.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Pay

$140,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and operation of real-time voice AI systems for public safety telecommunicators
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges across the stack
• Drive engineering standards around reliability, security, and performance
• Collaborate with product and operations teams to refine technical strategies
• Mentor engineers to strengthen overall team capabilities
• Establish testing and monitoring frameworks for AI systems
• Manage incident response and ensure system health

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in real-time communication systems with expertise in Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech
• Proven track record of technical leadership in large, complex systems
• Ability to architect LLM and agentic systems in production settings
• Deep knowledge of low-latency audio, streaming, and telephony technologies
• Strong proficiency in coding with languages like Elixir, Go, Python, or Rust
