Sr. Software Development Manager, Amazon RDS & Oracle Database@AWS

Key job responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap, working backwards from customer problems to develop innovations that make AWS the leading cloud service to run Oracle database workloads
• Own operational health and metrics — availability, security, durability, reliability, and latency, establishing mechanisms for continuous improvement
• Build partnerships with engineering teams across AWS and Oracle, own technical decisions that balance innovation with reliability and operational efficiency
• Champion AI-first development practices, build and mentor multiple high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, customer obsession, and operational excellence
• Recruit and develop top talent, creating clear growth paths and coaching engineering managers and engineers across multiple levels

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
• Experience in building scalable systems based on web services
• Experience establishing metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and/or operating large scale business-critical database applications
• Experience with Amazon RDS for Oracle and Oracle Database@AWS
