About the Role

The Structured Data Analytics team within Amazon Quick Sight owns the foundational data layer that powers every analytical experience. This role requires deep technical judgment, the ability to influence without authority across organizational boundaries, and a track record of delivering large-scale distributed systems. The Senior Software Development Engineer will define the long-term architecture of our data layer, drive cross-team technical strategy, raise the engineering bar across the organization, and deliver high-impact systems where correctness directly determines customer trust.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the long-term architecture of the data layer
• Drive cross-team technical strategy and ensure alignment with broader company goals
• Raise the engineering bar across the organization through mentoring and leadership
• Deliver high-impact systems where correctness directly determines customer trust

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
