Sr Software Development Engineer - AgentCore, AWS Agentic AI

Key job responsibilities

• Design and build highly available control plane APIs, data plane services, and managed agent loops for production AI agents.
• Deliver secure, isolated execution with tool orchestration, memory, context management, streaming, identity, networking, observability, and failure handling.
• Design versioning, endpoints, progressive deployment, rollback, evaluations, and optimization capabilities that help customers safely improve agent behavior.
• Improve latency, scalability, availability, resource efficiency, and cost controls across multi-tenant workloads.
• Simplify the developer journey across APIs, SDKs, CLI, console, infrastructure as code, and local workflows through cohesive abstractions, templates, defaults, and automation.
• Work directly with customers to reduce friction, accelerate time to production, and balance beginner-friendly experiences with flexibility for advanced builders.
• Influence AgentCore-wide architecture and product strategy while raising the engineering bar through design reviews, operational readiness, code reviews, and mentoring.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
