About the role

The Sr Software Dev Engineer in Machine Learning, Sponsored Products and Brands Ads Response Prediction, at Amazon Ads, is responsible for enhancing the scalability, automation, and efficiency of large-scale training and real-time inference systems. You will pioneer the development of LLM inference infrastructure to support next-generation Generative AI workloads at Amazon Ads scale. You will also work closely with applied scientists to optimize the performance of machine-learning models and infrastructure, and implement end-to-end solutions.

About the team

The SPB Ad Response Prediction team is seeking a talented Software Engineer with a strong background in machine learning engineering to join our team and help us grow the business. Our team is highly motivated, collaborative, and fun-loving, with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and bias for action. You will partner with a team of engineers and scientists to build advanced machine learning models and infrastructure, from training to inference, including emerging LLM-based systems, that deliver highly relevant ads to shoppers across all Amazon platforms and surfaces worldwide.

Key job responsibilities

  • Enhance the scalability, automation, and efficiency of large-scale training and real-time inference systems.
  • Pioneer the development of LLM inference infrastructure to support next-generation GenAI workloads at Amazon Ads scale.
  • Work closely with applied scientists to optimize the performance of machine-learning models and infrastructure, and implement end-to-end solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Pay

The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Total Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
