Job Details

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Permanent Sr. Software Asset Manager to join our dynamic team. This role sits at the intersection of finance, IT, and business operations and plays a crucial role in the strategic planning and day-to-day operations of our rapidly growing engineering firm.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting financial analysis and vendor management to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency in our software assets.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the software asset life cycle and managing it from procurement to retirement.
  • Implementing and maintaining a robust Software Asset Management (SAM) program.
  • Using AI tools, platforms, or governance frameworks to optimize software asset management.
  • Creating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models and developing business cases to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborating with IT and finance teams to ensure alignment between IT strategy, financial planning, and software asset management.
  • Managing software license agreements and ensuring compliance with all vendor contracts.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings through software re-harvesting, re-negotiation of contracts, and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software asset management, IT financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise application portfolios in complex multi-system environments.
  • Strong background in IT financial analysis, including TCO modeling and business case development.
  • Experience with or exposure to AI tools, platforms, or governance frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Familiarity with AI governance is an asset.
  • Exceptional vendor management skills to negotiate and manage software contracts effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and produce relevant insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with IT, finance, and other business units.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
