About the Role
This position will lead the development of hardware and software technologies into our vehicles to enhance comfort, safety, and user experience towards creating a top-class infotainment platform with a focus on C.A.S.E. (Connected Autonomous Shared Electrification) and Quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on performance testing, including developing unique requirements on system components and vehicle testing to guarantee product acceptance.
- Support maturation testing to cover different configurations of components to ensure all variations work correctly.
- Direct Honda-selected suppliers to design and manage components to maturation schedule requirements.
- Write clear and concise reports, presentations, and technical documents to record development activities and communicate with Technical Experts.
- Recognize and specify critical functional (hardware, software, and communication) requirements for infotainment system components to match customer demands.
- Develop, write, and issue specification requirements for system components.
- Analyze and interpret test results, predict performance/failure, and provide required product/design data.
- Effectively communicate the development schedule and report the status of component functions to different company areas/departments.
- Research and influence the future path and trends of infotainment system architecture, features/functions, and efficient development methods.
- Assess marketplace demands with a competitive viewpoint of infotainment system component requirements.
- Propose, develop, and justify new functions (hardware, electrical, software, HMI, etc.) to meet market requirements.
Requirements
- College-level Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a similar STEM field.
- At least 3 years of demonstrable relevant industry experience after completion of academics.
- Good understanding of vehicle communication protocols, e.g., CAN (Controlled Area Network), LIN, Ethernet.
- Python scripting to create test automation tools.
- Familiarity with project management tools/processes (e.g., Jira) is desirable.
Workstyle
This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
