About the role

This role involves supporting engineering teams in improving the reliability and quality of their services and infrastructure. You will be part of a team providing observability and infrastructure for key components of the AppFolio Real Estate Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives for the above systems.
  • Diagnose and monitor performance and reliability issues across the stack, including relational databases, web servers, networking, OS, containers, load balancers, etc.
  • Write code to perform critical tasks or in production, with expertise in languages like Go, Ruby, or Python.
  • Manage Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Work with Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools and technology patterns.
  • Utilize Amazon Web Services (EKS, RDS Aurora, Lambda, S3, EBS, Route53, DynamoDB, and VPCs).

Requirements

Must have experience developing Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives for the above systems. Proven ability to diagnose and monitor performance and reliability issues across the stack. Strong coding background with expertise in Infrastructure as Code and container orchestration tools. Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years industry experience, or equivalent work experience.

Qualifications

Mastery experience with some areas of our tech like Ruby on Rails, Kubernetes, MySQL, Linux, container orchestration, Networking, etc.

Skills

Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working on a team that values openness, integrity, ownership, and attention to detail.

Benefits

The base salary for this role is $138,400-$173,000, with additional benefits available for regular full-time employees.

Pay

The base salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.

Schedule

Regular full-time employees are eligible for benefits.
