Sr. Security Engineer, Ring Application Security

Responsibilities

• Analyze the security of applications and services
• Discover and address security issues
• Build security automation
• Quickly react to new threat scenarios
• Develop elegant solutions to complex business problems and apply appropriate technologies while following security engineering best practices
• Mentor more junior engineers and serve as a security thought leader for the organization

Skills

A successful candidate will need a combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle a mix of disparate tasks which may include project and software development work. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of non-internship background in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools
• 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans
• 4+ years of (non-internship) scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages
• Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
• Experience with security in service-oriented architectures/microservices and web services
• Experience with device security at the firmware level

Pay

• USA, CA, Sunnyvale: $183,000.00 - $247,600.00 USD annually
• USA, TX, Austin: $178,400.00 - $226,700.00 USD annually
• USA, WA, Seattle: $178,400.00 - $226,700.00 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
