About the role
At Schwab, Securities Lending is a strategy designed to raise additional revenue from existing client assets. Securities Lending Technology partners with the business to fulfill this strategy via multiple internal and vendor applications. This team designs and implements increased operational speed and efficiency; more accessible and reliable data; tighter governance to enforce usage and quality standards; greater focus on value-add analysis work; and reduced risk in an expanding regulatory environment.
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team. This role combines strong software development skills with a passion for quality assurance and automation. You will work with a team of talented technologists and subject-matter experts who bring energy, focus, and fresh ideas to support our mission of seeing the world “Through Clients' Eyes.”
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications and REST APIs.
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable code for test automation using .NET frameworks.
- Perform API testing using tools like REST Assured, Bruno, and Postman.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Collaborate with developers, business system analysts, and product teams in Agile environments.
- Conduct performance and security testing using JMeter and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts and test failures.
- Participate in code reviews and advocate for best testing practices.
- Work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4-5+ years of hands-on experience in a software development role creating and maintaining business applications.
- Strong experience with modern .NET frameworks v6+ and C# v10+.
- Experience with full stack application development technologies: REST Web Services, JSON/XML, and relational (SQL/Oracle) databases including data warehouses.
- Strong fundamentals in relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
- Experience in an Agile development environment.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry.
