Job Description The Quantitative, Translational ADME Sciences (QTAS) department at AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join the Novel Biologic Entities-Bioanalysis and Translational Science group. The main function of this position is to develop and implement LC/MS (liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry)-based bioanalysis and characterization assays of novel biologics entities. The successful candidate will be experienced in the optimization and implementation of novel and routine LC/MS-based bioanalytical methods for protein and proteome characterization and quantitation to support in vivo PK, TK, and PK/PD studies as well as in vivo stability characterization of complex biotherapeutic modalities. The candidate will be responsible for sample preparation, method development, bioanalytical assay operations, data analysis, report generation, and data presentation. Key Tasks And Responsibilities Operate and maintain LC/MS instruments to generate high-quality experimental data.Perform affinity purification of biotherapeutic (including but not limited to monoclonal and multispecific antibody, antibody drug conjugates, Fusion Proteins, antibody-siRNA conjugates, and tLNPs).Perform proteomics/immunopeptidomicssample preparationworkflowsAnalyze data and maintain detailed, accurate and comprehensive study documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks. Communicate data interpretation internally and externally.Facilitate assay optimization and implementation to ensure laboratory capacity and data quality.Generate new scientific proposals and leadresultingefforts. Investigate,identify, develop, andoptimizenew methods and techniques. Act as a lead scientist in his/her area of expertise and critically evaluate relevant scientific and regulatory advances and integrate this knowledge into research or development programs. Qualifications Ph.D. (0+ years), M.S. (8+ years), or B.S. (10+ years) of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Highly motivated, self-driven and results-oriented with excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of working both as a team player and individual contributor.Prior industry experience in drug discovery/development is preferred. In-depthunderstanding of in vivo PK, TK and PK/PD studies and corresponding bioanalytical assays as well asin vitro/ in vivo characterization assays is highly desired.In-depth understanding of LC-MS methodology with the focus on protein mass spectrometry and hands-on experience with wide range of mass spectrometers, including QQQ, TOF and orbitrap platforms, are highly desired.Hands-on experience with proteomics/immunopeptidomicssamples preparationas well as automated liquid handling systemsis strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze data using advanced software tools such as Protein Metrics Byos and GraphPad Prism.Passion for generating ideas, learning, solving technical problems, and applyingnew technologiesto advance scientific goals.
