About the role

The Senior Scheduler leads the development, implementation, and control of project schedules to ensure alignment with execution strategies and contractual requirements. This role drives schedule optimization, risk mitigation, and resource planning while providing accurate analysis of project progress, delays, and impacts. The position partners closely with project teams and stakeholders to support decision-making, maintain schedule integrity, and improve planning processes across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a schedule compliant with the selected execution strategy.
  • Drives schedule optimization to mitigate risks, improve efficiency, and enhance cost and resource utilization; lead resource planning, sequencing, and leveling activities.
  • Defines the planning & scheduling system (methods, procedures, time-schedules, physical progress, dashboards, etc.)
  • Provides schedule input during the proposal and planning phases, including validation of contract durations, development of execution timelines, and support to estimating and proposal teams.
  • Develops and governs Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and schedule coding structures to ensure integration with cost, scope, and reporting frameworks.
  • Leads the development, review, and approval of baseline schedules, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and facilitating client acceptance of baselines, milestones, and progress measurement approaches.
  • Coordinates, reviews, and prepares the project plans and schedules.
  • Drives schedule awareness across the project team by clearly communicating critical path activities, key milestones, float consumption, and schedule risks.
  • Identifies change and risk management impacts to the schedule.
  • Monitors and controls the project status to detect any delay and to propose corrective actions.
  • Integrates cost and schedule information in coordination with project controls teams to support Earned Value Management (EVM), forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Captures and documents lessons learned, contributing to continuous improvement of planning standards, benchmarking data, and scheduling methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical discipline preferred; however, candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
  • 7+ years of experience in project execution.
  • Proficient in producing a plan from a scope of work.
  • Milestone planning expertise.
  • Proficient in identifying critical path and float.
  • Excellent understanding of Earned Value Management along with Productivity Index (PI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI).
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses good interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Skills

  • Proficient in Primavera (P6) or similar scheduling software.
  • Good knowledge of EPCI work processes and sequences.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily conducted in an office environment but may require occasional travel to off-site work locations.
