Sr. Research Associate, Analytical Development

About the role

Avid Bioservices is a leading clinical and commercial biologics CDMO focused on creating innovative solutions to meet the needs of clients and improve patient outcomes. As a Sr. Research Associate in Analytical Development, you will develop Cell-based, ELISA, HPLC, CE, PCR, and/or SDS-PAGE methods, working alongside experienced analytical and process development scientists to identify and characterize protein biologics. This position offers the opportunity to interface with the Quality Control testing group during method transfer for cGMP testing and may involve interaction with external clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review routine wet chemistry assays, ELISA/cell-based immunoassays, electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE/IEF), and HPLC.
• Train and supervise the experimental work of junior analysts; serve as a member of interdepartmental or tech transfer teams.
• Develop, review, revise, and write test methods and standard operating procedures; perform trending analysis.
• Act as study lead for validation projects, investigations, and method development projects.
• Apply knowledge of company cGMPs and industry regulations; participate in regulatory inspections.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience in a QC or Analytical lab with a BS degree (preferably in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences), or 2+ years with an MS degree.
• Experience with analytical testing and equipment utilizing analytical biochemistry methods.
• Proficiency in writing reports, procedures, and specifications.
• Familiarity with GMPs and regulatory audits.
• Essential experience with Potency/ELISA and/or HPLC.
• Experience with most or all of the following: protein characterization, electrophoresis, chromatography, and assay validation/qualification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Octet, liquid handlers, and Maurice is a plus.

Schedule

This is a full-time position operating Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime, including weekends, as needed. Off-site meetings with clients and regulatory agencies are common.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $84,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. The package includes a base salary, performance-based bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.
