Sr Quality Engineer
About the Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer at MKS, you will partner with Operations, Engineering, and Internal Teams to support business and customer needs and drive a world-class quality culture. In this role, you will report to the Senior Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop quality data collection plans and inspection/process documentation.
- Perform analysis and identify trends in inspection data.
- Use statistical analysis tools to identify issues and draw conclusions.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving and quality improvement teams.
- Prepare customer first article packages.
- Understand customer specifications/requirements and translate them into internal PORs (Process of Record).
- Train personnel in processes and procedures.
- Lead audits to ensure product and process conformity.
- Document results and follow action plans through to completion.
- Review internal and customer data and prepare reports.
Travel Requirements: Up to 5% travel is required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of job-related work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong capability in data collection and analysis, SPC, and using statistical tools to identify trends and solve quality problems.
- Leadership skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams to gain consensus.
- Able to interpret mechanical drawings, understand GD&T, and mechanical measuring data.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma tools and application.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time.
- Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination.
- Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for 20% of the time.
- Vision correctable to 20/20.
Pay
Salary Pay Range: $88,425.00 - $147,375.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience, and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS.
