Sr Quality Engineer
Responsibilities
- Coordinates department personnel to ensure day-to-day requirements are being met.
- Including daily work assignments, personnel vacation scheduling and payroll approval;
- Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements, standards and procedures for development and manufacturing products.
- Acts as single point of accountability (SPA) for ISO 9001 Internal Audit program, including Lead Auditory role;
- Serve as the Quality Assurance resource to department supervisors and manufacturing engineering for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and corrective/preventive action;
- Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer;
- Review quality records and performance data, identifying problems needing improvement;
- Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection;
- Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports;
- Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented;
- Support for quality-related customer returns of product and product complaints, including investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action;
- Compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities;
- Analyze, define, source and implement appropriate measuring devices and gages to assure products and processes produce conforming output;
- Travel as necessary to plants, customers and suppliers to advance the QA goals of the business;
- Guide and assist in the conduct of system, product and process audits;
- Lead and facilitate supplier management quality activity, including supplier performance, approval, audit and corrective actions;
- Participate in and provide QA expertise to assigned process improvement and CI teams;
- SPA for Material Review Board for Non-Conforming Material;
- SPA for Gage Calibration program;
- Back up for Quality Assurance Manager as required;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree required. Preferred to be in Engineering, Business or Operations
- Basic Qualifications: Three (3) years’ experience in precision metal working or related industry; Three (3) years in quality/inspection operations, with decision making authority; Experience with ISO 9001 program; Experience with measurement/inspection devices.
