About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team at Sugaright. This pivotal role serves as the critical link between engineering and quality assurance, ensuring that quality is embedded into every stage of the manufacturing lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and enhancing quality processes, documentation, and training initiatives across our facilities. They will act as a key facilitator for implementing world-class manufacturing practices, supporting process validation, risk assessments, and continuous improvement efforts. The role requires a proactive individual capable of bridging technical expertise with operational excellence, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support quality measurement and validation activities during the implementation of new projects and processes.
  • Lead process validation efforts, conduct risk assessments, and support commissioning of new equipment with appropriate change management, training, and communication strategies.
  • Develop, review, and improve technical quality standards, specifications, and policies to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess sanitary design aspects on new projects and contribute to the enhancement of sanitary design on existing equipment to meet safety and hygiene standards.
  • Provide troubleshooting support at the plant level in collaboration with Quality Assurance Managers, assisting with customer complaints and process issues.
  • Facilitate problem-solving initiatives across multiple plants, training personnel and quality teams to adopt effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Support and improve measurement systems, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and consistency in quality data collection.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of structured change management and communication protocols to ensure clarity and consistency across projects.
  • Act as a backup for the Quality Manager at the plant level, providing leadership and support as needed to maintain quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement teams by providing technical guidance and facilitating focused improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a quality engineer or quality manager, preferably within the manufacturing, food, or beverage industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma, DMAIC, or other continuous improvement methodologies, including root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in data management, statistical analysis, and data summarization techniques.
  • Experience in designing and executing validation studies such as design of experiments (DOE).
  • Laboratory experience in chemistry or microbiology is preferred, along with knowledge of lab management or measurement systems management.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and experience in developing quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Relevant certifications such as ASQ or other recognized quality certifications are preferred.
