Sr. QA Automation Engineer

Our client in the insurance industry is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to help drive enterprise-wide automation initiatives and support ongoing business transformation efforts. This is a highly impactful role focused on designing, building, and scaling automation frameworks for web-based and cloud-based applications that support policy, claims, and billing operations. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance scalable automation frameworks for enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain automated testing solutions, internal tools, and quality engineering best practices.
- Support large-scale business transformation initiatives through automation and process optimization.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, process engineers, and technical teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Analyze current workflows and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Implement automation solutions that align with business objectives and technical standards.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery initiatives.
- Mentor and guide a junior automation engineer while helping establish team processes and standards.
- Contribute to the growth and expansion of the automation practice across the organization.
- Operate independently, taking ownership of automation initiatives from concept through implementation.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on QA automation experience.
- Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Experience developing test automation solutions, internal tools, and automation utilities.
- Strong experience testing web-based and cloud-based applications.
- Programming experience in Java.
- Programming experience in Python.
- Experience with Selenium and browser-based test automation.
- Ability to work independently and proactively drive projects forward.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills working across technical and business teams.
Qualifications
- Experience with Guidewire-related policy, claims, or billing applications (knowledge/understanding, not hands‑on coding).
- Experience with Playwright.
- Experience supporting enterprise automation or digital transformation initiatives.
- Prior experience mentoring or leading junior team members.
- Experience helping establish automation standards, frameworks, and best practices.
